About

Episode

Dr. Carrie Allen stops by the morgue and coyly convinces Davis to ask her out on a date. She suggests dinner, and Davis awkwardly accepts.

Jack is wandering around an outdoor plaza when he stops to check out a young woman who's listening to a street musician. The woman, Megan, turns to invite him to join her that evening at a jazz festival. He regretfully declines.

Meanwhile, Tru and Jensen are outside the Jazz festival scalping tickets that he had purchased for his ex-girlfriend.

Carrie attempts to create a romantic mood at Davis's house, but she hadn't counted on Davis being Davis.

In a dark alley, an electronics heist goes down as Harrison is on the clock snapping pictures for his dad's company. When he suddenly realizes that one of the thieves is an old high school buddy, he destroys the film.

Jack is walking down the street when he hears a scream. Megan has just jumped off a building and is lying dead on the pavement. In an odd turn of events, she opens her eyes and asks Jack for help.

At the very same moment, Tru leans into her first kiss with Jensen when she suddenly hears the dead woman's voice talking to Jack.

The day rewinds…

Tru describes the rewind to Davis. There was a painting, a music poster, a guitar case, coins, a twenty-dollar bill, and the clock on the Edison Tower that read 11:15pm.

Jack is back in the plaza listening to the street musician when Megan appears. This time he invites her out to breakfast and she accepts.

Tru misses Jack but sees the $20 bill in the open guitar case. She learns from the musician that the guy who dropped the twenty only did it to impress a girl.

Harrison stops by the bar where Billy hangs out and tries to convince him to make other plans for the night. Despite Harrison's protests, Billy assumes he's there because he wants in on the heist.

Tru tracks down Megan's sister and finds out that Megan is dying of leukemia and doesn't have much time left. Tru tells Jack that Megan will die anyway. Although he doesn't have to do anything, Jack doesn't see it that way.

Jack confronts Megan and she confides that she doesn't want to die sick and helpless. She still has two more things on her "To Do Before I Die" list that she doesn't think she'll ever get to. She's got a hundred thousand dollar life insurance policy that she wants to go to her sister. The policy doesn't pay on suicide so she has to make it look like an accident. Suddenly Jack understands why she needs his help.

Tru finds Jensen out scalping tickets alone and she drags him into the jazz festival to keep an eye on Jack and Megan. Jack tells Tru about Megan's insurance policy. Tru asks Megan if it would change things if she knew there was another way to get the money. Megan says that it's not just about the money. Tru tries to give her another perspective on the time she's got left.

Harrison is back at the scene of the heist and is disappointed to find that Billy didn't take his advice. He snaps the photos and turns them in. Dad congratulations Harrison on giving him what he needs to win the case and send those kids to jail.

Tru and Jensen collect their winnings from a betting parlor.

Jack takes Megan to her sister's house, and the sister says that Tru came by and handed her a check for $100,000. Now she can have the best medical care and the trip to Greece they've always dreamed about.

Jensen walks Tru home and they finally have that first kiss. Jack and Megan do too. Megan says that if she only has a few more good days with Jack then she doesn't want to miss any of them. Jack calls Richard and tells him he's not going to kill Megan. This time the rules have changed and he's not responsible. Richard tells Jack that when fate gets altered there are consequences. Jack needs to be strong and do his job.

Jack and Megan head to the Edison tower to look at the stars. Jack confides that he hates his job but doesn't know if he's strong enough to quit. At the observation deck, Jack hands Megan her "To Do Before She Dies" list and it just happens to float beyond the railing. Megan goes after it and slips. She dangles from the railing, pleading with Jack to pull her up. He says that he can't because he isn't strong enough. She plummets to her death just as Tru arrives. Tru tells Jack that she wishes it were him. Jack says that he wishes the same.
